The Jazz waive guard Ryan Thompson.

According to Yahoo Sports Mark J. Spears via twitter:

Jazz waived guard Sundiata Gaines, guard/forward Othyus Jeffers, forward Demetris Nichols and guard Ryan Thompson.

Ryan is the brother of Kings third year power forward Jason Thompson. Both Thompson brothers played their collegiate ball at Rider. After playing for the Kings summer league team in Las Vegas, Ryan turned down the opportunity to play alongside his big brother in Kings camp and instead, chose to audition for the Jazz. This is the second Kings player this week to have a younger brother get waived at an NBA training camp. Marcus Landry, brother of Kings power forward Carl Landry got waived after a very impressive start in Kings camp. This is the nature of the business.  We here at The Purple Panjandrum wish both Ryan Thompson and Marcus Landry luck in their continued pursuit of an NBA roster spot.
