WATCH: Sacramento Kings’ Chuck Hayes goes crazy during Oakland A’s game four win over Detroit Tigers

The Oakland A’s  have been capturing the hearts of baseball fans not only in the bay area, but in the capital city, too.  Last night, the Athletics forced a do-or-die, ALDS game five with a 4-3, come-from-behind victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Heading into the bottom of the ninth, the A’s trailed the Tigers 3-1.  But the A’s, who had won 14 games in walk-off fashion during the regular season, weren’t done yet.  Designated hitter Seth Smith led the comeback with a two-run double to tie the game.  Two outs later, center fielder Coco Crisp took the plate and drove in Smith with the game-winning, walk-off single to send the A’s to a dramatic postseason victory.

Now as the drama unfolded in Oakland, the Sacramento Kings had just wrapped up a 102-96 preseason victory over the Phoenix Suns.  The A’s game was shown live in the locker room and Chuck Hayes, a self-proclaimed die-hard fan since 1988, went nuts while watching the comeback play out at the Coliseum.

“It’s crazy,” Hayes said with a huge grin to News 10’s Ryan Yamamoto of the A’s surprise season. “It’s unbelievable. I’m happy for the city, I’m happy for the organization. You know, they find ways to win.”
