Three questions to ponder
1. Will Tyreke Evans be aggressive from the perimeter?
Evans played just 19 minutes in the Kings’ loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday. The Kings guard/forward didn’t show much variety in shot selection, attempting five shots around the rim and just two from beyond the arc. This was a slight step back from what Evans showed Sunday against the Lakers in which five of his scoring attempts were of the jump shot variety. The answer to this question may depend on how much he plays tonight.
2. Will the Kings’ rest their key players?
So far, DeMarcus Cousins has been the only Kings player to receive any kind of rest in preseason action. In Monday’s defeat to Phoenix, Cousins played less than 10 minutes. With the exhibition period coming to an end, it’s possible that Tony Mitchell, Hamady Ndiaye and Willie Reed get more run as a decision on the final roster looms.
3. Do the Kings keep the Lakers winless this preseason?
Reports out of Los Angeles suggest that both Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard won’t play in the finale from San Diego. Bryant is suffering from a bruised foot while Howard sat out last night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers have the big picture in mind and though a win would be positive, going winless in the preseason is not the end of the world for the Lakeshow.
