Game Preview #4 between the Kings and Jazz
Tonight, the Sacramento Kings will be facing the Utah Jazz one final time at the Golden 1 Center. The Kings are coming off a 91-90 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Jazz are currently leading the regular season series against the Kings 2-1, with two of the losses coming within one point.
1st game: The Jazz won the first matchup 104-84 at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, UT. The Kings shot 38 percent from the field during the game while the Jazz shot 48. During that time, forward Rudy Gay led the way with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, but was a -4 for the night.
2nd game: In the second matchup, the Kings won at Utah 94-93 behind an efficient outing from Ty Lawson. For the game, Lawson had 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. The Kings however did not do a good job of maintaining Gordon Hayward as he went off for 28 points.
3rd game: The Jazz won an overtime thriller in Sacramento 110-109 behind a game high 19 points from Lawson. The Kings, however, had many opportunities to win this game but poor execution down the stretch cost them. Although Hayward finished with 23 points, the Kings held him to 7-of-21 shooting from the field.
The Kings now sit in the 12th seed out West and 6.5 games behind the eighth seed, so technically playoffs are still alive. However, they would need to win almost all of their games for that possibility.
Don Weir’s Reno Dodge Keys to the game:
