Eight-city NBA Nation tour to make stop in Sacramento

The NBA’s largest mobile basketball experience stopping in the capital city this summer. ¬†The league is holding its annual NBA Nation tour, which will make its way to Sacramento from July 11-13. ¬†The tour officially tips off¬†in¬†Washington D.C. on Saturday, June 21.

“NBA Nation is 20,000 square feet of basketball action, including a full Center Court home to free interactive basketball activities, contests and clinics, and¬†the opportunity to meet current NBA and WNBA players and legends,” according to the league’s official press release.

This is the first time the annual summer tour is making a stop in Sacramento.  NBA Nation is also making inaugural stops in Indianapolis and Detroit.

One of the Kings’¬†own will serve as¬†host for¬†the tour. ¬†Sleep Train Arena game night host ¬†Scott Freshour will work as emcee for the event. ¬†Freshour has hosted the tour previously¬†and also worked as an emcee¬†at NBA All-Star Weekend.

For a fifth straight year, NBA legend Darryl Dawkins will serve as the tour’s official ambassador. ¬†Dawkins will meet with fans and judge some of the competitions that will take place in each city. ¬†Among the events taking place during the tour are an amateur dunk contest and an NBA broadcast booth experience.
