Chuck Hayes offered roughly $20-mil by Kings

ESPN’s Marc Stein reported the proposal earlier today.  The Kings have apparently offered free agent center Chuck Hayes a four-year contract worth approximately $20-million dollars.

The under-the-cap Kings, according to the source, are optimistic Hayes will accept the deal, which would pay the 6-foot-6 forward in the mid-level exception ballpark of $5 million annually.

Said another source close to the process: “Look for [Hayes] to take it.”

After signing rookies, the Kings will have approximately $25-million to spend once free agency begins on Friday.  Hayes is a local product who graduated from Modesto Christian High School.
