Sacramento Kings Probable Starters (2-1)
Los Angeles Lakers Probable Starters (0-4)
Three questions to ponder
1. Will the Lakers bench have any chance against the Kings’ second team fire power?
Keith Smart has plenty of offensive fire power to turn to when the starters leave the game. The Lakers, on the other hand, do not. There is no doubt that the Lakers starters are formidable, but unless Mike Brown wants to run out his line-up of 30-something-year-olds for an entire 48 minutes, he is going to need someone to step up and lead the second unit.
2. Will Coach Smart begin to settle on a rotation?
By game No. 4, Smart should have a pretty solid understanding of who is going to be in his starting five. At what point does he set the lineup and let his players develop some on-court chemistry?
3. Can the Kings have a strong showing against an elite team?
This isn’t the Lakers that we will see on the floor during the regular season. That team will make a run at 60 wins or more. But this is a top-tier squad with an incredible starting line-up, even if Dwight Howard doesn’t leave the bench. The Kings need all the momentum coming out of this preseason and beating the Lakers would be a nice push.
