Gary Gerould interviewed for "Small Market, Big Heart".

Before Wednesday’s preseason game, James previewed the upcoming season with Gary Gerould, the radio voice of the Sacramento Kings.  We bring you that conversation in the first segment of this week’s podcast.  And in the second half of the show, James and Jonathan share their takeaways of that first exhibition contest.

The Kings’ future in Sacramento remains uncertain.  What might that mean for the G-Man, who’s entering his 28th season as the radio voice of the Kings?

Well, nobody has the answers to what the future holds.  Do I want to be in this position for as long as I absolutely can?  You better believe it.  And I don’t say this with a great deal of ego, because I don’t think I’m a big ego person at all.  But I sincerely believe that I can still do the job and I can do it very, very well.  And I take a lot of pride in that.  And I take pride in the preparation just as I take pride in the fact that I have the opportunity.  The opportunity is amazing.  As long as I have my health and I’m blessed at this point or at this very moment to have good health – and that could change in ten minutes, who knows?  But I just enjoy what I do, I have a passion for what I do.  I hope I can continue to do it.
